Graduate Program Manager Brigham Young University, English Department Provo, Utah, United States
Please provide a one-paragraph overview of the session. (200 words or less): Much of the literature and recommendations on recruitment for graduate programs focus on strategies for large-scale recruitment at the university or college level. Many attendees of the NAGAP GEM Summit recruit for individual programs or departments, which requires adapting best practices. This session will primarily target participants new to Graduate Enrollment Management who are looking to understand best practices and how to best adapt them for their roles; these roles often start out on the programmatic level. This session will explore applications of strategies from A Comprehensive Guide to Graduate Enrollment Management (Paris and Kania III) on a small scale to enhance graduate program recruitment. We will discuss ideas for collaborative efforts across campuses to promote similar or complementary programs. We will also discuss ways that higher-level administrators at universities using decentralized recruitment models can support individual programs in their recruitment efforts.
