There Must Be a Better Way: Graduate Tuition Charges and Aid Distribution Operations - Survey & Case Study

Please provide a one-paragraph overview of the session.‎ (200 words or less): In our effort to create a better graduate tuition charge and aid distribution model after trying several different unsatisfactory strategies, we surveyed institutions across the country to learn about how this is done elsewhere. We asked respondents to report on various topics, including their program types, breakdown of program modalities, how tuition is charged for full-time and part-time students, and how scholarships are distributed. We present the results of this survey as well as what we can learn from it to inform our own tuition and aid practices. This data will be helpful to any other institution that is considering changing their model and is interested in learning how their peers operationalize tuition and aid, because there must be a better way.
