Cameron "Cam" Parkins [he/him] is a Program Manager in the College of Health Professions at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). In his role, Cam leads the admissions committees for the MHA and MSHA programs, and administratively supports the full student lifecycle for MHA, MSHA, and PhD students in the Department of Health Administration. Prior to VCU, he worked for the University of Michigan-Dearborn in both graduate and undergraduate admissions and student services.
Cam attended University of Michigan-Dearborn where he earned a BA in Communications and English Literature as well as a MA in Educational Technology. He is currently pursuing his EdD in Higher Education Leadership at VCU and scheduled to graduate in Spring 2027. Cam's research interests currently center on support systems for first generation graduate students, as well as equity and fairness in the admissions process.
Cameron is a Disney and amusement parks enthusiast, a minor league baseball fan, and dog dad to a rescue pup named Scooter.
