Katie Ferruzza is the Director of Student Services at the University of Rochester's Graduate Education & Postdoctoral Affairs Office, which supports around 1500 graduate students in the Schools of Arts & Sciences and the Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences. Her role involves developing strategy and directly supporting, engaging and building community among graduate students and postdocs at the University. In her role, she co-leads the Graduate Ambassador Program, oversees the graduate student orientation each semester, supports students through the CARE Network experiencing challenges, and advises around 20 graduate student and postdoctoral groups. She also organizes programs and events to enhance the student experience, including Graduate Research Day and a variety of other academic, wellness, and social experiences.
Katie has her MS in School Counseling from the University of Rochester, and has been in higher education for close to 14 years, starting in career services, holding roles in teaching, advising and most recently transitioning to her current role (for the past 5 years) in Graduate Student Life.
