Karen Wetterhahn has worked in higher education for more than 25 years, including nearly two decades at the University of Washington which includes 13 years in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. As Graduate Program Manager, she oversees and supports approximately 200 students across PhD, master’s, and certificate programs, helping guide them through their academic journeys while fostering a supportive and vibrant graduate community.
Karen joined NAGAP in 2024 and is excited to be presenting for the first time alongside seasoned veteran Ronald Martin.
Outside the office, Karen is active in the Seattle acting community and has appeared in a variety of film and commercial roles. Her experience in front of the camera often carries into her advising style, bringing energy, creativity, and humor to conversations with students.
